will this size tire fit on a 1g w/ no rubbing

i need to know if a 235/45-17 tire on a 17x7 wheel with a 40mm offset will fit on a 1991 gsx.
any help will be appreciated .

No, I haven't. Personally, I would go 225 or even 215. I would never put a 235 on a 1G. The tires will look wierd and might feel "mushy".

agreed, I have 205's, but wis hI had 215's. No bigger than that on a 1G though!!
 
I have 225/50 on stock 1G rims. It works, no rubbing. It looks like there is room for 235's. With your combo I don't think it will rub the suspension, but it might rub the fenders because it will stick out. Just get the fenders rolled and it's should be OK.
 
Well, I mounted the 235/45-17 tires on the 17x7 wheels and they fit great on the car. There isn't any rubbing at all.
I ran at the east coast shootout today and had consistant 1.70 60ft times with the tires.
