another coilovers quest......

damn i know this question has been posted but ive looked an got different answers so i still dont know what to do ~

i have stock everything, so of course i need to lower my car maybe about 1 and 1/2 inch.... problem is aftermarket shocks are what $400, so i decided ok just buy coilovers and put em on.... then people tell me my stock shocks will break for sure with aftermarket coilovers - is this true or not?? if so what about just lowering springs then, will that work with my factory shocks?? will these make the ride way too hard?? thnx for your help.

I think the stock shocks can hold a drop up to 2 inches with springs. And i'm pretty sure you'll need aftermarket shocks with coilovers.

don't be a cheapskate. If you're going to lower it get the struts. You'll thank yourself for it, especially with coilovers, and you don't have to spend 400 to get yourself struts. I got mine brand new from a shop for 280, and they are tokico hp's look around at prices and get a nice set for a good price.
