that stupid metal cup shaped bracket on the stock front shock is givin me problems...i cant get it off. so this means i cant get the bumpstop or dust shield either. any tips to get that puppy off? thanks guys.

i had problems with all of em

heres how to fix it....kinda

-move the dust cover down
-put the shock in a vice, dont clamp down on shock (its ok to clamp onto the bump stop some...i recommend it). have the cup sitting on the vice.
-take a blowtorch to the circled piece
now the fun part
-take your handy dandy sledge hammer, and beat the living shit out of the threaded part of sthe shock. keep hammering it down and it'll go.

fun huh?

I had the same problem with mine...I just took it to a local machine shop, and they took care of it for free, within 2 or 3 minutes.

I tried everything to get mine off.. so finally I just cut the shaft of the strut with a reciprocating saw. I was replacing them anyways and just needed the bumpstop so sure.. why not?!?!

LOL thats what i did, and i still couldnt pull it off. the guy at the machine shop was like, now i hope you dont need that strut still cause it wont work like that...guess you had to be there...
