She owns a 97 TALON 2.0NA
Well i would like to know if thier is anyway to tighten the response of the brake pedal. i drove her car and i can push her brake pedal almost half way done before her brakes even do anything. And what are the best ways to check the brakes.
Another thing is thier any diagrams lieing around here that show engine bay and the parts inside and stuff like that. i would like some pics(real) of the throttal cable and the rear of the engine bay.
Something is wrong with her brakes. i'll tell ya the little story.......
She bought her car about a month and a half ago from nissan used cars. It included a 3 year warrenty to my surprise. well anyway i drove her car one day and i relieaze her brakes were wack and that she needs to take them in. so she did and then they said nothign was wrong with them and they clean them anyway. like a week later she could not stop her car going 10mph and she hit another car. well now nissan is giveing her the run around. and #@%#@%#@%#@% and put in pads on and thats about it. well i feel like she has right to fight or something get something for free maybe i do not know. what do u think?

thanks and i hope to talk with you guys again.

check her brake pads and brake system hydraulics....may be worn pads or air in system (possibly low brake fluid or weak lines)

Things to check:

- Linkage. It might be misadjested, which means you can push on the pedal but have little braking action. There is an adjustment at the brake pedal, this pushes on the master cylinder.

- Linings. Are they worn? That increases pedal travel.

- Leaks. The internal ones are pretty hard to spot, since no fluid is seen outside the car. Push on the pedal and hold it there for two minutes. It should not move down at all - if it does the master cylinder might be leaking internally.

- Check the brake fluid. Does it look rusty or thick? Brake fluid absorbs water, which in turn can cause internal corrosion. In really bad cases internal parts can fuse togeher (i.e. no brakes!).

What does the phrase" brakes are wack" mean? Im lost here.

Good luck....get this traced down fast!
