I replaced my rotors and pads couple months ago, now my brakes are grinding while Im driving. I dont brake hard, and the car has been has been on and off the street for the last couple of months. Does anybody know why its doing this? It was fine one day and the next it was doing this. It also seems to get worse? Sounds like theirs no brake pads left, but I know they are allmost new? Theirs metal shavings all over my rims. Sometimes the abs kicks in when I brake from 10-0 and sometimes locks up. This is the wierdest thing that ever happend to me!

Sounds like you may have installed them wrong. I've never heard of there actually being metal shavings on the wheels. Check your installation.

when abs kicks in.. it doesnt lock brakes up. It is supposed to stop them from locking up. Most people with 1g's get rid of their abs, because it malfunctions.

Its parked now for a while, Im going to tear it apart this week. I have to do a number of things. I will repost on what happens in a couple of days. How much would it be for a aftermarket brake kit, caliper and all. Will that also be a way of ditching my abs?

PS. thanks Steve for the offer, I will let you know if I run into any probs.:thumb:
