There are different reasons why people apply spacers in between coils. Some add drop springs with stock shocks (Stock shocks already shot) and tend to hop or sag. They then add spacers to give better support or raise it a bit to get a slightly better ride. Others ad them because the lowering spring might have dropped the car to low and need the added height for clearence. All in all i wouldn't run them but thats just me. Do you know what spring rates you have and how new or old the shocks are?

Is there one on the other side, too? If so, then the previous owner was trying to reduce the number of active coils to increase the spring rate. Not what I'd do....

Those springs look too reddish to be Tenzo Rs. No idea what they are.

They're purple. All 4 corners have the same shocks. Only the fronts have spacers.

Here's the rear

I don't know anything about them. But the car is definitely lower

Intrax springs are actually softer than stock. Hello bump stops!

[translation: they're crap]
