Eclipse Wheel/Tire fitting Volk Challenger Rims w/215/40/17 tires

Just curious but I'm getting a set of Volk Racing 17x8 Challenger rims with 215/40/17 P7000 tires. I know that the stock tires on my 90 Eclipse GSX has 225, will these be ok? Are there any side-effects to this setup? The offset for these new rims are also 45mm, will I need spacers or should it bolt in w/o probs?

As far as I know, that will fit. They'll fit on a 2G with no problem, I know. I've got Gram Lights at 7.5" and they fit with a -40/44 somewhere around there with no problems.

215 is pretty narrow for an 8 inch rim though. You should throw some 245's on there. Take advantage of your nice wheels!

Also, 225 is not the stock tire width on DSMs. 205 is.

Yep, my error, stock tire size is 205.
