Help choosing roll cage.

I will be road racing my car, and it will have in the neighbourhood of 600 hp. Can somebody with roadracing experience suggest me a rollcage? Do I need a 10 point that goes through the dash or will an 8 point be sufficient for safety and chassis stiffening? Thanks guys.

Safety is not something to cheap out on, IMHO. Get a professionally built custom 10 point, or more, cage with NASCAR door bars. Do not even think about the Autopower or Cusco bolt in cages, they are garbage made of garbage. My cage builder will not install an 8 point or less cage because he knows how unsafe they are. Especially for a road racing application and especially for a 600hp car, you need a 10-12 point cage.

Also, if you plan on running RTA Street Class your roll cage cannot penetrate the firewall.

Instead of asking people on this site, who may or may not know what they're talking about, I would search around your area for custom fabrication shops which do cages regularly. These guys will probably know not only what designs are the safest and/or most practical, but should be up to date on the different sanctioning bodies' requirements (i.e. requirements like 6,8,10 point, halo/no halo, tubing thickness, base plate dimensions, bolted/welded in, etc). Do it right, do it once. It would suck to show up to a track day only to be told that your cage is unsafe or doesn't meet the necessary requirements.

Are you going to be actually racing your car or just HPDE type stuff?

Either way, first thing to do is decide who you're going to race with and bring their rulebook to your fabricator.

I want an NHRA and SCCA approved 10 point roll cage.

I'm pretty sure i'm going to get this one which is the 10 point with DOM tubing:

It will be welded in the car by a professional.

You'll have to make quite a few changes to that cage as it is for drag racing. For one, you'll need a diagonal bar within the main hoop.
