So When I back up and hit the brake lightly be it using the hand brake or the pedal they will give out a loud hum. If I am going backwards fast and I press hard it is quiet. But slow and soft the noise is loud. And :coy: ing. Are my pads shot or what.

Plus I cant lock up my wheels when braking hard. Yes my abs has been removed.

You can pull the wheels off and check out the pads. I would say that the pads have just glazed over a bit. You will be able to check the pads with out removing the caliper by just looking through that square hole on the top of the caliper. Go ahead and make sure there is no fluid leaking out of the caliper, piston, or lines. Be sure not to use the hand brake for stopping regularly on the AWD. ;)

Now that i re-read your post, how old are the pads? A hum would suggest the are getting low.

I have never changed them. So I think I will look into some new pads.
