I just recieved my Eibach Pro kit springs and KYB AGX shocks from tirerack. I also purchased the KYB shock mounts kit, which is basically bushings and washers. I just want to know is there anything else i should purchase or am i good to go. I noticed that the rubber junk at the top of the stock springs is like falling apart. Also for those that have done the job themselves... do i need a spring compressor? I am going to use this link as a guide to install this stuff on my car, but i noticed on his install of his GC's he did not need a spring compressor... maybe you dont need them for coilovers, what do i know... ahha.

Alright thanks guys,
Dave

Might as well get a camber kit now and save yourself the trouble later. You will need it. Don't believe that crap about pro kit drop not being severe enough for it.

As for the bumpstops, mine fell apart and I left them out. Many cars these days don't even use them anyway. As long as your shocks don't bottom out it won't matter, and you don't plan on off roading right?

You may have to cut the bumpstops in half so you still have a decent amount of spring travel.

Have you ever seen the damage caused by the upper control arm hitting the wheel well?

Before I upgrading my full suspension, I was riding around on 4 completely blown shocks for over 2 years; shocks so blown you could depress them with your pinky. Two of my bumpstops had the integrity of styrofoam, mostly disintegrated, and did nothing for travel. And two were kind of serviceable but on the way to the latter. I had no damage to my upper control arms.

I left them out and I'm comfortable with it. If OP wants them in, then he can go try and find some. OEMs aren't made anymore for DSMs according to my mits dealership.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. Actually, after i only got that first reply and no interest in the thread i went on ahead and installed the shocks and springs. I didnt use the bumpstops b/c i didnt think it would be that easy to slide them off the old shocks. I didnt find out i coudl do that until i had all four new shocks in the car... haha. Oh well.

As far as the camber goes... i'll see what the rear does to my tires first since i'm goin to replace them in a few months anyways. Now that the suspension is in though, i would like to make a few comments.

I have the fronts of the AGX's set at 4 (stiffest) and rears at a 6 (out of 8). I read in some past threads that its too stiff for people but i think they are perfect where they are at. But then again i'm used to bilsteins in my previous cars.

Lastly, as far as the spring compressor goes.... i rented one and didnt even use it. Guys you honestly do not need a spring compressor on the stock suspension. I basically laid out the shock and spring assembly flat on the ground, stepped on the shock and used an impact gun to take the nut off. As soon as the nut came off the shock shot out about 8" and that was that.

Alright, i'll end it at that. For the suspension gurus... i'm thinking about just adding a stiffer sway in the rear to decrease understeer. What do you think?
