photo These friggin swaybar links

I've been driving for more than a year without a front swaybar and am starting to get tired of bottoming out the front end on nearly ever dip and speedbump in the road. So today I decided to put the sway bar back in.

I've replaced both lower control arms and the links physically dont fit. It's like they're the wrong part now for the original swaybar. So I went to oriellys and bought some "universal" swaybar end links and tried to rig something up with an aluminum pillow block kinda thingy. But it doesnt seem to be working, as when I compress the suspension the swaybar will hit the axle.

I doubt there is anywhere in houston that carries the correct swaybar and/or lower control arms and I really dont feel like taking this one out as it was a pain putting it in. I'm leaving tomorrow for Galveston and will be back next weekend. So any ideas on how I can rig something up would be nice, I have access to a welding machine and many tools.
Thanks

The bottom pic is one of my old LCAs.

It looks like you swapped in the LCA from a 1.8L. I don't know if the bar is the same but you'll need the link from the 1.8, modify the LCA to install the 2.0L links, put the 2.0L LCA's on.

The 1.8L links have a ball on the end that attaches to the bar and a pillow on the LCA end and they are shorter than what you made.

You have to be carefull what you ask for and pay attention to what they hand you.
If you asked for LCA for a 90 N/T you could wind up with either LCA depending.

Swaybars have no effect on dips and speedbumps.
