98 gsx...19'' c-5 but 9.5 and 8.5?

ok guys I have a 98 gsx, with 19' racing hart c-5's dipped in chrome on the car right now....they are 19x8 on all four....but I just bought some racing hart c-5 3-piece rims for it....they are staggered 19x8.5 up front and 19x9.5 in rear......35mm offset will these work on my car since I'm going widebody? i heard you cant run taller tires in rear and smaller up front, but I hear you can run wider rims in rear, and not have any bad effects......please help me decide, cause I already ordered them, and will the 8.5' up front rub anything

You must have the same diameter in all 4 corners. If anyone of them are off, you will blow ruin your viscous coupler. You should get the same size tires in all 4 to be safe.

yes i understand the diameter to be 19'' on all four wheels....but the rear rims are 9.5' wide, and the front rims are 8.5' wide....will these fit without rubbing? I want the car to have a wider set of tires in the back, but the same hight.....you know like right now I have 215/35/19's on all four corners, but on my new wheels I would put something like 225/35/19 up front, and 245/35/19 in the rear....will this work before I pay for these wheels?

Actually, it's pretty clear that you don't understand, since you are planning to put tires with different diameters on the front and rear.

You can have different width wheels. You MUST, MUST have the same diameter tire. a 225/35 and a 245/35 DO NOT have the same diameter the rears would be taller than the front. As long as the tires are the same diameter then you will be fine.

i thought the first number on the tire was the width, and the second was the hight? so are you saying that just because its a 35 series on both front and back that the rear would still be taller cause its wider?

The second number on a tire does relate to size, but it is a ratio to the first number. So if you have 235/35 and 245/35 they will be different heights.

scroll to the part about aspect ratio. The second number is a percentage of the width to determine side wall height. A 245/35/19 and a 225/35/19 are different for that reason. 35% of a 245 is greater than 35% of 225.

I know the 8.5 will but I'm not sure on the 9.5. and could someone that is smarter than me calculate what exact tires I would need on front and rear so I dont break anything? You could do it yourself by going to tirerack.com and looking up specs for different size tires of your liking.
