I'm in the middle of doing my awd conversion and so I decided to put prothane bushings in at the same time on the awd parts. While trying to press the axle off of the rear knuckle I bent part of the knuckle.

So my question is can I use the fwd knukcle instead? I know the trailing arm & lower arm are the same but the toe arm is different. If I just use the toe arm from the fwd suspension would it work? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

They are different part numbers so there must be differences. You are probably in a better position than anyone to discern the differences.

Best guess would be the hub bearing being a different diameter.

On a side note, you wouldn't happen to know the measurements for the 4 subframe bolts? I forgot to get them from the donor car and I don't want to cut my car up trying to find them.

Your exactly right about the hub bearing being a different diameter. The fwd knuckle is much smaller were the wheel hub bolts up, so a wheel hub from a awd wont fit a fwd knuckle.

Omega I have a extra set of awd subframe bolts, I'll sale them to you for cheap if you want or I can get you the measurement for you. The rear bolts need to be the same lenght as the awd rear subframe bolts, but the front subframe bolts need to be much shorter due to fwd not having the bolt brackets. What I'm doing for front sub frame bolts is using the fwd rear sub bolts with a couple of washers in them.

Not bad for shooting from the hip :)

Thanks for the offer on the bolts, but I already have a set. Whenever you get the chance, the dimensions would be great, thanks.

Thank you, but I was looking for the placement of the bolts in the trunk. I know it's a bi*** to get them out since they are under sheetmetal and then encased within the body. Rather than cutting one or several big holes, I was wondering if you could take some measurements so I can locate them easily.

Here are the pics I promised.
