hey guys i just got a 95 eclipse gst. its lowered with some tokico illuminas and eibach sportlines. well first off whenever i hit a decent bump it sounds like my struts are bottoming out but it doesnt feel like they are and the rear suspension just doesnt feel good at all it seems like it sways a lot in the back. nothin seems to be broken or loose and when i take turns it just doesnt seem like it wants to go where i want it to any opinions on what it could be i would really appreciate it. thanks again.

Sounds like your rear knuckle to me. I had this problem for the longest time, but found a thread with a cheap fix. It only cost me about 3 bucks to fix compared to buying a new knuckle ($130+) and only took about 15 minutes to "fix" myself and there's no more banging. So check that bushing and see if it's busted. If it's not, then maybe it's just your shocks...

I'm with bhop, definitely sounds like the upper knuckle bushing, mine does the same thing and I KNOW it's the knuckle bushing... still haven't got around to putting the ES bushings in :(

It takes less time to go and look at your car than it does to post and wait for replies.

As I wrote in the other, nearly-identical thread (which, of course, you read), go pull off the access covers and look at the upper shock mount. If those are fine, then jack up the rear and look at the upper knuckle bushing. My bet is on the shock mount, though.

We cannot diagnose this for you.

Go to the back off your car and try to push down on it. If it is easy to do then your struts are blown. Also just look behind your wheels and see if your springs are rusted and if the coils are really close to eachother.

Update when you get that done.
