A couple weeks ago I had a set of Brembo slotted rotors installed on my car along with some Hawk pads. Well as soon as I hit the brakes the first time the brake pedal started pulsing in and out and the whole car started shaking. It was worse the faster I was going. So I took the car back to the mechanic and he said the rotors were warped. So I ordered a new set from another vendor. Now with the new rotors on the car is doing the same thing, although not as bad. Now I can see this happening once but not twice especially with a top of the line brand like Brembo. Has anyone had any issues with Brembo or any other brand of rotor for that matter? Or is my mechanic an idiot and did something wrong. I really dont want to spend anymore money on brakes!

I had brembo blanks and they eventually "warped" about a year later. Make sure your mechanic is using a torque wrench on the lug nuts. Even better, do it yourself because changing rotors is easy.

ouch! if you bought a second set of rotors you just wasted money. you did not warp rotors unless they got super hot and you ran though a puddle (which i doubt is what happened). you should always bed in/season new pads and rotors before you just hop in and do the 100-0 stop. you would not throw in a fresh clutch, back out of the driveway and do a 5k dump would you? check out the white pages at stop tech...

Ya I have my doubts sometimes about my mechanic. I read those pages from the stoptech website and I understand about material building up on the rotors but they started vibrating from the first stop I made after leaving the shop. One stop cant be enough to do that. Im very easy on the car too so I havnt made any hard stops.

Invest in a cheap dial indicator ($14.99 at Harbor Freight) and check your rotors and flanges for lateral run out.

also another thing that could have happened is that you had some rust build up on the hub behind the rotor hat. it is always a good idea to use a dremmel tool or sandpaper to clean the hubs before installing the new rotors as the rust could not allow the rotors to set correctly on the hub. also clean the outer diameter of the hub, when i put my power slots on the fit was so tight that they felt solid, but were not completely on because of rust build up on the outside diameter of the hub. cleaned up the od and they went on completely. might suggest that. i agree that it is highly unlikely that a company like brembo has two sets from two venders back to back that are bad.

Brembo offers no warranty too, even in the case of defects so looks like Im stuck with them.
