I got some 17x8" 5zigen fn01r-c wheels with 225/45/17 gforce kdw2's

will they fit without needing spacers? They also had 35mm offset, but i was affraid it would rub on the fender

Will this clear my suspension? Its a 99 gst

thanks

Also, does the offset make a differnce on the look of the wheel from the outside? does it give it more lip, or more depth?

thanks

Not bad choices. You should not have any problems fitting them.

43mm, 40mm, 38mm, 35mm; they sound like big numbers, but the difference between the smaller and the larger is only slightly more than 1/4 inch. Not something one would really notice just looking at the wheels.

i'm running 17x8 motegi trac lites with a 255 width tire...........and you don't wanna know how i got'em to fit!! ROFL
the 225's will fit like a glove! :thumb:

I'm running 234/45 17x8 with a +37 offset.

you shouldn't have a problem. I want +32 offset, but gotta stretch tires. wish they made 'real' fender flares for the eclipse.

Those wheels are exactly the ones I was thinking about getting with some Kumho MX's in 235/45. Nice! Did you find any better price than $210/wheel?

i got them at cost cause a buddy of mine has a shop....

Tonight I will be picking up some 4.5x5 lug 42 offset 17X8 OZ Racing Rims

From what I've read in this thread my best fitting tire would be 225/45/17

This sound right? (stock fenders, maybe 1 1/4 inch of lowering in its future)

Thanks

Anybody running 245/40/17 without the camber correction kit out back on a 2G?
Just wondering if it will tuck in on a +38mm offset, 17x8 wheel.

Depends on the tire and whether your fender lips are rolled.

I used to run 245/40/17 Kumho MXs on a 17x8 +40mm and they tucked even with camber correction since my fender lips are rolled. Therefore, you should no problem without camber correction on +38s (since my camber correction is a heck of a lot more than 2mm), but this only applies if your fender lips are rolled.

I have 245/40/18 gforce kdw2's on 38mm offset, lots of rubbing on the inner arm. I haven't installed them yet because of this but I am fabricating a 3 mm spacer plate to see if they wont fit. Assuming my lugs still have enough bite......

No fender lips rolled yet but a must, I see. I'm a bit concern about rolling and the affect on paint but if it's not the fender itself it shouldn't be a problem.
Hoping to run 245-40-17 Hankook RSS Z211 R compound rubber.

BF Goodrich is one of the brands that do not provide treadwidth data. They probably don't think it's important.

It shouldn't affect the paint, since only the lip is rolled. But if you are worried about it, pony up and have a bodyshop do the work and have them re-coat the lip with underbody sealant afterwards. It really isn't something to worry about as long as they roll the lip and don't cut it off. Remind them that it's a unibody weld and they'll get the point.

It's worth it. 245/40/17 is a very nice size for our cars. And I've heard some good things about the new 'Kook Rs.

Yes, there's a how-to; conduct a search.

You only can roll the lips in the rear, because only the rear has them. The front doesn't have lips, because it isn't unibody.

I just bought a set of the new Hankook Ventus rs2, and so far they're awesome. Excellent in the dry and nearly as good in the wet. They're a bit noisy but nothing bothersome. Im going to be autocrossing on them this sunday and I think they'll cut down my lap times quite a bit over my old firehawks.

Thanks for your input on thoses, it will be in fact my next STREET tires.
The Z212 are in fact the RS-2 and the Z211 the full race tires. There's also the Z214 but that's another story... :)

Thanks for your input guy's.

I just got my car back from the body and also finally decided on a set of rims. I was originally gonna get Drag Wheels DR9- 18x7, but I ordered those back in Nov of 2004. I got tired of waiting, but it was good that I did because the new Tenzo R GT-05 came out and I ordered them in a 18x8.5 wrapped up in Falken Azenis RT-615 235/40, and I can barely stick finger between the tire and upper spindle, front and rear. OHH, by the way, my car is 98 GST Spyder with an Eibach and Tokico lowering kit, only the rear butterflies a little bit. :dsm:
