1G FWD/AWD Suspension Differences?

Hey guys wassup.i had a question concerning front wheel drives and awds...i have a 90 awd and a friend has a 90 front wheel....i was asking this question because i wanted to know if awd rear springs would fit on fwd rear shock..and vise versa....please let me know......thanks

offhand, since the fwd doesn't have independant suspension in back i'd guess no. that's all i have to go on though
