225/45/17 victoracers on 9" rims?

I have 215/45 17 on an 8" wide wheel and the wheel is definitely wider than the tire. Next set will be bigger. It shouldn't hurt handling too much--it's better to go narrow tire on wide wheel than the other way around. I'd give it a shot, see how it looks and drives. You can always take them off it is just isn't working for you.
 
I think the concern here is that, with the grip of V700s, he could pop the bead seal mid-corner, which would really suck. I'm assuming the question is being asked because the poster has these wheels and tires in hand (or can get a good deal on them). Personally, I wouldn't do it. I'd sell the 225s and get 245/40/17s (or do the DG thing and get 275/40/17s if you have the power to launch with tires this big). But, then again, I'm a wimp. YTMV (your testosterone may vary)
