Illumina installation problem

started installing illuminas on the 2g and ran into a snag.

Started w/ the rear and found that the bumpstops just slide right off of the new shock. the bumpstop will stop on the "ridge" of the old stock shocks fine but looks like the illuminas "ridge" is just a tad thinner. Am I missing something or what?

Would the little metal collar help because mine seperated from the upper brushings and is rusted onto the "piston". I didnt think this collar held up the bump stop though because regardless the illuminas ridge is thinner then stock shocks. Any help???

Heres what I mean,

this picture (not mine) is where my bumpstop should be positioned on the illuminas.
Mine doesn't stop there, it just goes right past and hits the shock body.
Maybe I could get some new OEM or aftermarket bumpstops for my car?
Any company make aftermarket ones?

Shoe Goo. (Or any other glue that will hold it up, but won't actually react with the shaft.)

as long as you have them on there I really don't think it matters if it's at the top or at the bottom of the rod

Thats what I was thinking, When I put my illuminas on i dont remember if they sat on the ridge or on the shock body. The bumpstops are there so the strut mount doesnt hit the shock body when you bottom out

yeah.. i have tokico hp's and the bump stop doesnt stay up like it did on the stock struts. havent noticed anything bad about it as long as its somewhere on there
