OK i just bought a set of coilover springs only, no new shocks, this is just a test for me to see if id like having my car lower and see if id like having coilovers period, I only wanna test to see if i like it cuz i bottom out all the time as is, my front bumper the bottom front lip has been through hell, but thats the price u pay living in the mountains.

So they arived the other day and im looking at them and i took off my wheel and was doing a comparison to the stock suspension. And right off the bat, the coilover springs are about 3 coils shorter then the stock springs, and the adjustable sleeve that they ride on has only about 2 inches of play on them. So am i right in thinking that when and if i put them on even at the higest setting my car will drop instantly about an inch or 2?

They are shorter than your stock springs when the stock springs are compressed or extended?

Keep in mind that they are probably much stiffer, so they will sag less when you put the car's weight on them.

You're going to hate having stiff springs and no upgraded shocks.

with the stock shocks wont it make it like real stiff or somtin like that, i think i heard or read somewhere thats what happens when u do it that way.... but like i said this is just a test to see if i can actualy have my car lower and not destroy everything. i bottom out enough as is. when the car was on the ground the spirngs were relativley the same size, but once lifted, no comparison, i know the coilover springs are stiffer, i just wasnt sure if it would cause a sudden big drop that i wouldnt want.

You might as well throw those out right now. I did the same thing, stock shocks and coil-overs. The ride was absolutely horrible. I was afraid it would bend my rims and break other shit in my car they were so stiff. Pick up a set of NEX full coil-overs for like 600$. They are fully adjustable and the spring tension can also be adjusted.
