What do you recommend as the stiffest race suspension for the front end, when i drag race in first and second gears my rims n tires are bouncing, i need something to keep the wheels on the ground, what are your recommendations for the best setup for the front suspension assembly on a fwd turbo dsm?

Opinions vary... generally coilovers are the best. The GC/Koni setup is quite popular and goes very well. I should clarify.. REAL coilovers. Not the $75 ebay specials you see.

It's not only the front that is giving you problems. When you launch the weight is being transfered to the rear. That takes away traction from the front.

Other fixes are: LSD, poly engine mounts.

BTW an LSD isn't the end all to wheelhop. I have the Kaaz.. and hopped a 14.7 @ 99 mph the other day at the track.

well you kind of have it backwards, it really depends on what type of racing you want to do.

for drag racing you want a loose front suspension and a very stiff rear suspension. You will alos want the front of the car as low as it can go while the rear should stay at stock height. The reason for this being that when you launch the weight transfer is taking weight(traction) of the front wheels and putting it over the rear wheels, now this would be good if you were rwd, but well we are not. You want the front to be "loose," I don't mean all over the place but not nearly as stiff as the rear, so that when you launch the front of the car can have some flex in it allowing the tires to go where they want to(its a little more complicated than that but you get the picture)

for track racing you want your car as low as you can get it, and you want the front end to be very very stiff. This stops the front end of nose diving when cornering and plowigng you of the road, or creating understear. you also want to brace the chasis as much as you can i.e. roll cage, strut braces(real ones), subframes, etc...

and yes try poly mounts, nice tires, and an lsd also. Omega you think that's bad try 16.2@97mph

Add me to the club. 15.2@98mph. :)

If you guys are so interested in 1/4 times, why do you have a FWD? If I was, I would have stayed with AWD. Better yet, I would find myself a nice RWD import. Why not concentrate on top end where FWD shines? IMO it's kind of fruitless concentrating on 1/4s with a FWD car.
