I'm considering a new suspension setup for the summer auto-x season and am trying to decide it I do the usualy koni yellows/ground controls or go with something I really want like the tein SS.

My problem is the only set I can find is for the AWD 90-94 eclipse. Is there no way around mounting this set on a FWD eclipse? What differes on the suspension? I spent the entire day underneath the car install swaybars and I cant tell a difference between my FWD and my feinds AWD in terms of shock mounting positions. (Yea i am aware there is a driveshaft on the awd!)

I have searched with no answer! Please let me know if I should stop dreaming of puting Tein's on my car, or if they would/are compatible!

And if the teins aren't, then are the Apexi N1 World Sport Damper available at http://www.hopupracing.com/apn1wospdasu.html for the FWD? Anyone know possible solutions? Thanks tons for your input guys!

I would like to know the same thing. I have looked into it and it seems as though the front will bolt up without a problem, however when it comes to the rear I think the strut might be different. I have never found anything to say they are or are not, however the one difference I can find is the spring rates. The AWD springs will be hella stiff in the back making oversteer an issue for the FWD. But with the right tuning I think it can be compensated for. Anyone have any useful information?!OMG

Well, if the SS works on the FWD, I'm sure Tein would have listed it as a FWD part as well. Based on the description of the Apex'i kit, it sounds like it's only slightly sportier than the factory suspension so you'll probably be disappointed doing 'crosses.

GC and Konis are probably your best bet.

I agree, I think the spring rates might have to be compensated for, but that could be easily adjusted to prevent oversteer. From what I can tell the strut mounting positions are the same or very similar. Does anyone have a conclusive answer if this would be possible?!

Thanks again.

I think the only positive way to find out would be to get a AWD rear strut and try to fit it onto your fwd.

I think the only major difference could be the body of the strut, the AWDs needing to hold more weight might be larger and maybe a little longer then the FWD, only real way to test is to get them and compare
