ok rolling on 18's, stock shocks melted springs, i got the car like this no way in hell id do this to my car, just got 19's 225/35/19 falken tires, i dont know the offset sorry, i bought goldline springs they say 2 in drop i dont know i dont have them installed, i need to know what shocks go good for that height, koni yellows, ive heard are shorter than most other shocks so they dont bottom out, i just hate my ride right now and want it a little better, thanx.

This is from RRE website

Tokico Illumina 5 Way Adjustable Shocks
These are our favorite for the 2G Eclipses. They are less harsh than the GABs or AGXs and more adjustable than the Konis. There is a 5 way adjustment at the top of the shock for both the front and rear shock for convenience. Turing the adjuster stiffens up both compression and rebound damping. Eclipse and Talon. Guaranteed by Tokico as long as you own your car.

I have Illuminas, I like them. I run 3 in the front and 5(stiffest) in the rear with pretty good results. I have Sportlines though, which are a little soft IMO, I'd much rather have stiffer spring rates and less of a drop in exchange for better handling. I would suggest going with Ground Controls if you want good spring rates as well as a nice drop. I wish Eibach would release info on their springs, so they could be compared to Tein and Tanabe springs, which actually tell you the spring rates, but oh well.

Sorry for the rant,
Spidey

Be careful about reading isolated bits of information from websites, even when it's a company that knows what it's doing, like RRE. Sure, RRE likes Tokikos, but they make fun of 2"-drop lowering springs. If you insist on over-lowering a 2G, you have to get short shocks, so your only OTS option is Koni Sports.

hey rant on spidey, all info is usefull for me, my ride really sux, it's horrible, my car feels like it's gona fall apart, i dont wanna spend too much, but i do want some nice parts that actualy work for there cost, i just want a no fender gap, im not looking to tuck my wheels in or anything, plus like i said i need to change i have melted springs and probably all my shocks r gone, i have these goldline springs, 2 inch drop, so do you guys think i should go with coilovers and illuminas or the konis, ive always wanted ground controls but i had a bad experience with coilovers that i dont know if i should get them.

jtmcinder, i see you have GC, and the koni's hows your ride? and it says you have 17's, how much did you lower it, 2.5 inches or so? does it bounce, or can you hear the damn coilover move around like the spring its self, cause thats what i had problems with, and it sucked, im ready to order some stuff so any more comment suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I run my car about 1.5" lowered. My ride is fine, because I have Koni Yellows, which are 3/4" shorter than OEM, and rather stiff springs. I could go lower (without hitting the bumpstops), but that would hurt handling. You really don't want your lateral control arms to angle down from the knuckle to the chassis, for a variety of reasons. Most of all, when the lateral arms are below level, the side-force from cornering adds to body roll.

I think your best bet would be to copy Jtoby, and go with Koni/GC. I know a lot of people run this setup and all of them highly recommend it. I wouldn't recommend my setup if you want something that rides well, because frankly, it doesn't, the springs are just too soft.
