Are we ready for another Austin/SA Meet

Hey all I had a great time at the last meet in September. What do the rest of you all feel about trying to squeeze in another meet before the end of the year?

It sounds like I am not alone in wanting another meet. I would recommend a weekend meet like a Saturday; I would recommend Dec 13th or 20th, others are more than welcome to provide input.

Also we would need plenty of parking space, how do you all feel about Dave and Busters on Loop 410 and I-10? Plenty of room, and easy to find - again this is just a suggestion, would welcome feed back and recommendations.

I vote for Dec. 13th since the following weekend will be occupied with Xmas stuff for a lot of people.

I am probably out. It depends on work and how/when things pick up and Saturday's become mandatory.

Since the last one was in SA, is this one going to be in Austin?

There are some very knowledgeable guys on here when it comes to these cars. The first thing I would do to your car is maintenance. Fuel filter, plugs, wires, o2 sensors, etc. You would be surprised how far a stock 4g63 engine can handle ............unless you get boost happy (DSM_PWR)

What about a meet on the same day as import shootout? We can even make it an all day event? Maybe have a BBQ after the track and hit up Austin or SA at night. We better get movin' ### some of us have to request off from work for these things... (which I already requested off for import shootout )

Just how much could it handle? And I'm not talking about that all so accurate DSMLink estimate either, cause I have some impessive numbers using that too. or is it or or , but probably more like .

Can I bring my wifes Escort? It will for sure get me to and from SA without the tow truck.

I was/am NEVER scared to race you. I have a pregnant wife so I don't exactly get to go to the meets when I want (as you do) and my job requires that I not get tickets/arrested (again) for street racing, well any tickets in general.

Just so it is on the record, I would have run your e85/28psi (or whatever you were running) with just pump/20psi. If that wouldn't have been enough to beat you, so be it. I could care less about winning and losing. I do this for fun only, and always have.

As for the races with Frank. You had a few times to run him but didn't, for whatever reason. You 2 have/had the same basic setup, with minimal difference in the setup so yes I would have liked to see you 2 run, much the same way I liked watching him and Chris run. I believe (if your car ran as good as you claimed) it would have been a very good match. However you wanted Frank to run guys you were scared to race, or just didn't want to race. You wouldn't even try to run the Mustang that I tried to run the 1 time I went out to the local meet. Used the old traction excuse and something about needing baby Jesus. Last I checked I was fwd AND I even tried to do his race, drag radial or not. They spin just a easily at 23psi/e85 as do the 18's at 14psi/pump, but that is the nature of the fwd. Now we will never know what the outcome would have been since I'm retarded at shifting during races, but you never tried.

So since I types all that out, none of it really matters because you don't have a running car, I don't get to the meets like I want, and Frank could care less either way. Like I said in our texts, I can't wait to see your new setup because it sounds very nice. I know you have big plans (probably more than anyone in Austin) and I hope you finish it because it will truly be a monster, and might even be pretty clean too.

Now before people start crying and getting their man panties in a bunch, I will get this back on track and have no problems with anyone here. This is just in fun and I'm actually sitting here laughing at the fact I typed all that out.

So, when and where are we doing this meet?

True i didnt want to race him at the moment because of the fact that i had minor issues like spark blowout, you know it because i was asking you questions about it. I would have raced Frank but id rather race him with no issues so that i have no excuses

I think your misleading ppl on this part, lets clear some up

*The mustang has a 125 shot
*Built 331 Stroker
*Does low rolls only (favors 20 rolls)

YOU have
*Drag radials
*LSD
*Laggier turbo

I Had
*Crappy 205 street tires
*No lSD

That sounds like a good idea...meeting up on the day of the import face off then heading off at night to get some runs in. We could arrange to simply meet at the raceway then , and I'll work on it, arrange for a meeting spot later on in SA...since that's where we'll be already.

Lets hit on your points for me shall we...
True I did have drag radials, at 38psi and they still spun didn't they?
I spin 2 tires instead of 1. The LSD does NOTHING for this car in a straight line but leave 2 black marks when it comes into boost, now the turns are a different story.
The turbo is laggier, but we did his 20 roll and if you recall (being in the car and all) the car responds INSTANTLY in 1st gear. It actually will for most races cause I can use a lower gear than most due to the raised rev limiter.

Now to some of the points on you...
Buy some real tires! Not my fault you paid for all that rice, err I mean chrome/powder coating instead of sticky tires. It does look good though.
The LSD isn't holding you back like you think on a roll race.

Now lets get to the hard facts...
You are splitting hairs with our cars when the truth is you should have run him to see. He is just a typical p**** mustang owner that will rarely do rolls most people do. As you saw, he was long gone the first time we went out (to scout) and we just drove past him. The only reason he sent his pansy over is because he had never seen the car before and thought it would be an easy kill (well, it was but that was driver/mechanic issues) which is why he also agreed to do my roll. Which still suprises me I never showed up on any of his girls videos from the later runs. You on the other hand have been going to damn near every meet and your car is known. We will go along with the fact it is fast (for the sake of this discussion) and that is why he only wants to do his roll against you. He believes it is an easy kill. We will never know because although you had a potent setup, you never raced his race because of 2 MINOR things that are easily overcome with these cars.

Now, get your a** out there and do some work on that rear end swap. If I have to text you and hound you daily on here to have your car done when summer (how many seasons do we even have anymore) hits next March, I will.
