Does CMU have a car club? I searched the clubs listed online, but there wasn't any mention of one.
I'm up here because my girlfriend is going to CMU. I'll hopefully get a full-time job going soon, but would love to shoot the shit with some other car guys on occasion. I ran Penn State's car club the last 2 years. And by ran, I mean filled out the paperwork to get school funding. I'm really really surprised if CMU doesn't have one. Someone should fill out the paperwork and get one going. They can even copy the charter that I had to make for PSU.
But if you see a green 2gb Talon with a front mount, RallyArmor mud flaps, and a PA plate, that's me.
BTW, and car stuff to do up around this area? AutoX? Drags? Ice Racing?

I don't think they have one but i know they need one. I know I've been seeing more and more 2g eclipse's and talon's driving around town lately. I've seen some 1g's and 3g's too and was thinking about some how setting up a dsm meet in a parking lot I just don't know how many people would show up.

Are you an undergrad student? Any time the club at PSU started to thin out, we just went around the school parking lot sticking flyers under the wipers of modded cars. We would then hit up the local apartment complexes and do the same thing.
All you'd have to do is find 2 more undergrads. Hell, my girlfriend could probably sign as the adviser until you find someone else.
Start something on Facebook and I bet the club would slowly form it self.

C. The Registration Process - OrgSync
In order to be eligible for the privileges and services available to student organizations, an organization must register with the Office of Student Life (University Center 214, 989.774.3016).
The Registration of Organizations is done online using OrgSync.
1. The President must have a Global ID. This ID can be obtained from Helpdesk (989.774.3662) or http://www.oit.cmich.edu
2. The name and Global ID of the Advisor is required.
3. The President logs on to the Online Registration System (OrgSync) and completes the application.
4. Upload an up-to-date constitution and bylaws. The local constitution must contain the following information:
- The name of the organization
- The purpose(s) of the organization
- Requirements for membership
- Method of officer selection
- Impeachment proceedings
- A statement about the disbursement of organizational funds should the organization be dissolved
- A non-discrimination clause (see example in Article II Section B.1 of the sample constitution)
5. Officers of RSOs must be in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA required), free of disciplinary probation, and be registered for at least six semester hours of credit at CMU during their term in office. The Office of Student Life can access these records at any time. It is recommended that minimum standards for the membership of the RSOs should require that members have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and be free of disciplinary probation. Organizations are encouraged to set membership standards higher than 2.0 in an effort to strive for academic excellence.
6. In the event any of the requirements above for registration are not completed/met the student organization will not obtain "Registered" status.
7. Other conditions for losing "Registered" status include, but are not limited to:
a. Organizations with outstanding university debt will lose recognition by the university until all debts have been resolved.
b. Campus Conduct issues may result in a lose of "Registered" status.
c. Failing to follow the organization's constitution.

I'll even do the bulk of the paperwork to get this started. But since I'm not a student, I can only do so much.

Yeah. Lol. Sorry about that. I'm not even looking for DSMers. I'm just looking to meet some car people.
I was really hoping to find someone who had some spare space in their garage where I could keep a few tools, work on my car, and possibly rebuild my motorcycle. Otherwise, I'm going to end up renting a storage locker at self-storage place.
