So i finally decided i would really really love to squeeze some more power out of my baby with some cylinder head porting. Problem is not only is this my daily driver (so can't afford much down time) but i don't have a huge pocket book (so can't buy an extra head). Also I have no idea where to go. I know toledo has bushur and pure tuning and etc. but they seem to specialize more in the 4g63 scene. So anyone know where I can go that is quick and good around my area that does good work with the 420a?

There probably arent too many that specialize in the 420a. You may need to ask the neon guys if there is anyone that they use. Any machine shop should be able to port the head whether or not they specialize in the 420a.

just an update on this encase it can help anyone else. I had my port work done at Pure Tuning (in Toledo), and will soon have my tuning done there. I really like these guys, they seem rather knowledgeable and have quality work. Only down side is you are paying for the good service work, but thats better imo than going cheap and getting 2nd rate work.

I personally try to stay away from showdown. Herd many a bad things about them, mainly in quality of work and cutting corners, best thing i have herd about them is they are much cheaper, and like you said, specialize in DSMs

I had my car fully built at showdown. They cut alot of corners. They did a horrible job. Its very sloppy work. My wiring was a mess and they cut all my wiring to everything so i had to fix that. They didnt give me the right intercooler so i didnt fit. So they cut my frame to make the intercooler fit. They also bash my radiator to make it fit. They gave me a used gt35r that blew up within the first 700 miles. Those are just some of the problems. Its just a horrible shop. I would not recommend showdown to anyone.
