I'm scheduled for a trip to "Modified by KC" for Dyno tuning on the 24th (They're the closest shop near me with an AWD dyno). I'll be switching over to Speed Density on DSMLink V3 and cranking the boost up above 25psi for the first time. I plan to run E85 fuel. I was hoping to get feedback from some DSMers who've been there in the past to make sure this place knows what they're doing when it comes to e85 speed density tuning with DSMlink. Anybody been there before or know someone who has??

Been there plenty of times, KC (or casey - that's also his name but i'm not sure how he spells it though) is a very knowledgable and friendly guy. That's where i was when i layed down my nitrous dyno result of 503 hp. I know a lot of other locals who've gone down there for dyno tuning becuase our local imort shop has developed a reputation for blowing cars up on the dyno. Not to mention MKC is the closes AWD dyno we have period, so when the AWD guys want numbers without having to weld the center diff and pull the driveshaft they just go down to MKC. One thing i can say is can't think of one single person who's ever had anything bad to say about him or his shop's work, so i'd say your in good hands.

ON a side note, A friend of mine just blew his 3rd honda engine up after trailering down there for a tune, it wasn't the shops fault though, but for some reason this guy's honda (with 3 seperate engines popped 2 road tuning and the last on KC's dyno) he has had oil related failures everytime they start pushing the tune. I tuned on it for 2 nights after work for free to help him get it at laest running and get it close to save dyno time and it was fine at 18-19psi, then every time they turn the boost up he has spun rod and main bearings (I haven't been there for any of the failures), but I would love to figure out why, being that hondas are usually pretty reliable and the fact that each time, it was a different block and crank that went in and failed the same exact way. Sorry to go off topic, just thought about that being that it was the last time anyone i know has been down there.

I wouldn't sweat a thing about going there for a dyno tune. He will err more on the safe side as opposed to popping your engine trying to pull every last ounce of power out of it by tuning on the ragged edge.

what color is your 2003 gsxr? I have the yellow and black one, I love it. Just has a Yosh slip on i shortened. -1/+3 sprockets and some things like air shift and custom bits i've made for it but i love my gixxer :) (saw it while looking at your profile/mods)

Thanks a lot for the reply, I feel much better about taking my car for a 5 hour trailer ride now =). I'll be sure to post up my results once the tune is done. As for the bike, I guess I need to update my profile. I actually sold my old blue/white 03 Gixxer 750 a couple of years ago. I loved that bike. I'm now the proud owner of an 08 Yamaha R6 (black) and I think I love it even more. It's crazy how much power the newer generation bikes make.. even the smaller displacement models. My R6 will supposedly do a 10.75 sec 1/4 mile and has a 17k redline w 133hp bone stock. Not too shabby for a 600cc. I love technology :D

Well, that day is getting close. YOu'll be in good hands i assure you. (Chad or Casey will take good care of you) About bikes, only thing i don't like about newer bikes is them losing all the torque and being only high revving machines. I jumped on a 2010 zx-10 and pinned it in first and it was a dog untill 10k RPM, to me any liter bike should be able to throttle the front end up anywhere over 4k RPM, feeling like i was faster on a bicycle until 10k was dissapointing :(
