I should have done one of these a long time ago but oh well. I am trying my luck at replacing the turbo so here we go. Pulled the stock turbo this weekend, have a 20g apparently rebuilt by Justin going in soon. Taking it out wasnt bad at all, few hours of work. I will start posting pics as i become more comfortable with this journal...

To get this started, disconnect the elctrical clip from the maf, remove the vacuum lines, hose clamps from the intake pipe. Remove the exhaust heat shield, i think they were 13mm or 14mm. It wont hurt to spray those with a little PB Blast and soak for a little before you do.

Walbro 255 came in this weekend so I started that swap. Access to the pump is under the passenger side rear seat. It wouldn't be bad but I have my air tank setup there so it was a little tight. Also the fuel line heading to the engine was a pain. Had to cut the hose out and remove it. Haven't found a replacement yet so I might need to have one made.

Hopefully these links work, if not there is a 2 part video on youtube the shows the walbro install on the awd which is very similar. fwd had a bolt on cover, i didnt have to cut the body like the video did.

Well I haven't posted in a while so here is the update. Turbo itself is in, it was a snug fit. I used an install kit from forced performance which I found out was overkill for me. The oil return adapter was not fitting well so I made up my own that hopefully works. Having some trouble uploading the pictures so I will try again later. I basically cut the bottom half of the stock tube and used a rubber hose connected to the flange they supplied with the kit, up to the turbo. Also added an extension to the return line under the oil filter to get a little more clearance. Like I said pics coming soon. Might be able to start it this weekend.
