I am a total noob when it comes to DSM's LOL. I figured what best way to start on a new forum, and a great way to promote my new shop let them see what I can do so here it goes. This will be a slowly updated thread but a great one indeed.

Shell: 1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Auto.
Trans: Metro Built Auto
Transfer Case: Metro Built upgraded
Suspension
Fuel System: Weldon 2035A Fuel Pump, 8 ID 1000CC Injectors, -10 Stainless Steel Hardline from Cell to front of Car x1, -8 Stainless Steel Return Line from Rails to Cell X1, AEM Universal Fuel Pressure Regulator, JM FAB Fuell Cell(getting ordered)
Wiring: Custom Rywire Harness getting made.
Ignition:

I made the drive from Southern California to Bend Oregon to get the car. It wasnt in that bad of shape so here are some pics.

Thank you.

I figured I did what I could RWD and FWD why not try AWD.

Yes I know CPT Rob I bought his Old Integra and did alot more than he did with it LOL, we have know eachother for over a decade.

What the f\/ck?!?! You guys are getting into the DSM game now? That's cool man, I've seen your teggy and camaro run a couple times and met you guys before. I was there when you ran Cris in the RX-2 last year. That car looks pretty virgin, nice find, Metro knows their shit with these auto trannys so you should be good to go there.

I converted my car to auto a couple years ago and have had great success. My car's almost done now and should be coming out pretty soon. I know my way around 1G's pretty well, I actually have three of the damn things LOL.

What type of times/power are you planning on putting down with it?

Have you guys thought about what you are going to use to tune with?

Is the stock converter still in the car? Were you planning on running a restall or custom converter from somewhere?

Have you decided what you're going to use to shift it with? There's a couple different options, I use a hurst ratchet shifter in mine. You'll need a way to get the trans to run full line pressure when you go WOT, either by shifting manually or a TCU eprom chip. There's a lots of info in the auto section here and also over at Login. If you have an account for the ecmlink boards, there's also lots of good info there.

I'd recommend getting a Kiggly flex plate before you start putting down any real power:

Yea it was time for a change since we did what we could with the 3 cars we have so now lets see what we can do with this one.

I have spoke with Erin at Kiggle she is taking care of me on everything they offer my parts will be shipping out monday from over there.

I will be running aem v2 that will shift the car for me. I am having Jason Steen formerly Steen Chassis do the cage and I dont want to jump the gun on power or times but this will be a force to be reconned with.

Cool man, sounds good, I know you guys build some serious cars. Good call on using AEM to shift the car, that'll work great. I'd be on the look out for some spare t-cases while you're at it and maybe look into a t-case brace: 1G Transfer Case Brace v.2 :: 1G Drivetrain :: 90-94 1G Eclipse :: Mitsubishi

The first thing I had to do was get some wheels so I got these RX7 BBS Wheels.

I noticed the gas cap was broken so I hit the local junkyard and picked one up.

The oil pressure wasnt reading on my cluster I thought I was screwed but I hooked up an external gauge and ya it looks good to me.

I just gave in and started to get cracking on this. I removed the Cruise Control, Wiper Assembly, Washer Fluid Bottle, Power Steering, Front Bumper and support. I am getting ready to remove the dash and all the interior to start taking some weight out the car and get the engine bay all shaved and clean. I want this engione bay to pop like god damn when I open the hood and this isnt gonna be no show car this will be a race car.

My Flexplate, HLA, Main Girdle, and Valvetrain are en route from Kiggly.

I just placed an order at JM Fabrications for my Catch Can, Turbo Manifold which they are doing for me with a V60 Gate Flange, Front Bumper Support, Intercooler. Intake Manifold with dual fuel rails and Nitrous Bungs, and Fuel Cell with single -10 feed and 2 -8 returns.

I am tearing down the car little by little gonna pull the engine and trans so I can send both my trans and transfer case to Metro.

I just got my Fuel Pump back from Weldon after they serviced it and replaced the end caps, also just got my injectors back from RC after they were cleaned and reflowed pics will be up shortly here is a few of the teardown.

Here is a spare trans I picked up which I am sending to Metro as well so I dont have down time if I encounter an issues.

My rear subframe bushings just got, and my injectors were just cleaned and flowed by RC. I got my fuel pump back from Weldon flowing better than new.

nice build man, I'm working on an auto build as well so i'll be following close.

Thanks. I will be waiting a minumum of 6 weeks for JM Fab to finish all the products he is making for my vehicle so as much as I want this car running already Im limited to what I can do until I receive my parts.

Very cool build. I know youre not looking to speculate, but what are your ET goals? What turbo are you going with? Youre going to be ver y happy with all of those JMF parts!

uh oh now youve got me worried. maybe I should give them a call. Im waiting on a drag manifold and catch can. LOL. luckily I'm not planning on having her back out till next year anyhow.

11secdsm, I am sure there building this car for a LOT of grudge use on the street. Doubt times or power will be listed LOL.

I do a lot of that with my auto over here on the east coast. Automatic is the best way to get it done. Just have to get the car to sit, and hit it with a healthy shot and people are in trouble.

I wont be posting power or ets sorry as 1fast laser stated I am doing a lot of street stuff with this car so I dont want the world to know what I got I mean I am doing this builkd thread to see what I can do with it all specs will be posted but nothing more.

Here is my Camaro just to show what I am used to building so this DSM is gonna be fun.

Well I spoke to Ryan at Rywire and he wanted my engine and trans to get started on my custom harness, I told him Im sure there are people that would be very interested in his harness, so as soon as mine in done I will post pics you guys will be blown away at the quality work he does. My harness will be 8 injectors setup for aem boost solenoid map sensor and m and pro 14 cdi. He is also integrating the kiggly Auto mod. Here is what I got accomplished today I started at 4pm so about 6 hours of work. Last pic shows my boy helping out

Great new my parts from Kiggly arrived. I am still waiting for my 12 tootch crank trigger but hopefully that will ship out Monday or Tuesday.

I did a lil more today I had to get the motor loaded up to take to Rywire, and since I still had the car on the lift I put the subframe and lcas back on. I figured since I had in on the lift I might as well pull the fuel tank so I can get started on all my hard line.

I got my alt relocation and my rear toe kit from Jay Racing, just waiting for the rest of my bushings so I can do it all at once.

I'd suggest getting a Saturn 160amp alternator, or getting a douglas auto works 130amp stocker. My 90amp galant could not handle idle, two pumps, one fan, vacuum pump, brake light. It would be at 11.5.

That is strange... I ran (2) Bosch 044,s, (2) 12" fans, and a vacuum pump with no problem on a factory alternator and stock untouched harness. I logged 14.2volts at idle and 13.6-13.8@ 10,000 rpms. Though I would like to use a galant 90amp some time just for comparison. Not criticizing just wondering if you had another issue. In fact I have never had a voltage problem in any of my DSM's and they all have had similar setups.

Im gonna look in to that, thanks.

Wow,this is going to be one SICK car.

Thats the plan, it just sucks when you are limited when you are waiting for custom parts. I dont usually do off the shelf parts thats what sets me apart. I mean obviously some parts are gonna be what everyone uses but I can gurantee there is only one other car with a harness like this one in a dsm.

Saturn alternators are 96amp, but its a generic gm alternator so they make parts to upgrade them to 160-200amp. I had a local alternator shop setup a new one to 160amp, and put in a self excitor which makes the alternator one wire so no need for the factor plug, just the power wire.

You will have to get the bracket for it from jays racing, but he charges 10-11 bucks.

The Mitsu stockers are hit or miss unfortunately. My last couple alternators would only log in the low 12s at the top of a gear. My current one barely dips below 14.0.
