Spec stage III

They're decent clutches and we do sell them, but I still highly recommend ACT 2600 clutches. We sell clutchmasters too, and those are pretty good, but the ACT2600 is tried and true.

Can't go wrong.

Good luck!

You can have a super strong clutch and have a 3 bolt rear end. Doesn't matter. All in how gracefully you launch your car. We've had people break 3 bolts on stock clutches, and people run high 11s with 3 bolts and ACT's... all depends.

for $50 more you could get a fidanza flywheel, less weight and a replacable surface..

never heard of that clutch before.. My ACT has never done me wrong..

I was going to get the fidanza, but the sales rep I talked to at horsepower freaks said it was too thin and wouldn't dissapate heat very well. That combined with the fact I was already thinking there might be something up with these flywheels for the price to drop so dramatically, made me change my mind and order the ACT.

I didn't want the ACT clutch or any other organic clutch becuase I wanted to be able to slip my clutch on launch so I don't break any parts, but I also wanted the clutch to last a fair amount of time. Just doesn't seem possible with organic clutch, if it gets too hot its done for. I was originaly going to get the spec stage II, its segmented kevlar and rated for 375lbs. But I read some reviews on dsmtalk and it seems the stage II doesn't hold up to AWD launches very well. Every body on there had great things to say about the stage III though.

its made of aluminium (except friction surface), and anyone with a fluidyne, koyo, pwr.. etc aftermarket radiator will tell ya.. aluminium dissipates heat just fine...

"

price drop is to stay in competition with the ACT flywheels and other lightweight ones coming out, plus much more are selling so much more are being produced, so production cost is lower. has nothing to do with quailty.

Aren't the ACT flywheels make of Chrome-Moly Steel? That is what i heard doesn't dissapate heat very well - gets hot spots.. Plus the fidanza has a replaceable surface..

The ACT flywheel is much thicker than other chromoly flywheels, so it does a much better job of heat dissapation.

on 14psi and my sbr g series i killed a spec stage 3 in under 7k miles, not sure what happened to make it let loose, but i wore it down past the rivets, but i know many that are happy with thiers. it was to hard to slip and launch though, now i have the 2600 and xact fly, its easier to drive also

All I know is, I saw this picture of a Jun flywheel with 4000 miles on it:

...and decided that chromoly flywheels weren't for me. ;) Whether the ACT's are thicker or not, I felt a lot more comfortable going with aluminum.
