Which transmission do you think is generally better? From what I understand the wrx manual (non sti) trans is based upon the same design since the 80's. And most of us know that mitsu doesn't make the greatest manual trans either. It seems that this is a weak link for both of our awd cars.
I'm just glad it's less expensive to repair and upgrade ours! New wrx sti ra gearsets are almost $1,500 before labor. Conversions to the STi 6 speed are insanely expensive (upwards of $8,000). I'm just glad we have shops like shep, tre and bm tranny (turbo trix). Too bad we don't have 6 speed conversions available but I can deal with it, especially for 8grand!!
Well back to my question.. How do their transmissions rate against ours? Any useful info would be great...
