Mt. Holly,
ok, I bought a fwd turbo 5spd trans and the guy I bought it from slammed it into 1st and messed the thing up when he was fooling around. The car doesn't go foward when it is in gear. When it is in gear and you give it gas, the speedometer goes up even when the car isn't moving. I am assuming that there is nothing broken on the imput side of the trans. My best guess is the diff. The trans is now out of the car and I am about to take off the casing and look inside. If something is broken, will it be very apparent? Someone let me know what they think is busted. Thanks!

most of the time that i know if something in the tranny is broken you will notice it if not the broken pice then little flakes or chucks of metal in the tranny fluid

yea just take it off and take it to a shop that gives free estimates. They will take it apart and tell you what all you need and give you a quote. Either have them do it or tell them to write down all the parts you need becasue you aren't in a hurry and you want to shop around for the best price and do it that way.
