Ok, So i got the ACT 2600 installed the other week. Actually I did it myself with help from a very knowledgable DSMer, much thanks to him but thats besides the point....

I break in the clutch go to philadelphia own on some turbocharged hondas, one of the launches...a real hard launch because thats all you can do with the 2600, its either in or out.

I launch...and i notice while my front wheels are spinning the back is making a very low toned thump noise...very low and very soft. I notice no performance loss from this but its an annoying sound. Now I hit second gear and as my wheels chirp it does it for a very few seconds then it stops when they grip.

Very low toned thump sound....any ideas...I heard something along the line of a bearing...what is this?

anyone?

When you hear this thumping, does your car vibrate like mad?

NOOO..nothing but thumps like maybe .5 seconds apart...its very consistant

no rattling no side effects from it...just a thump untill my wheels grip...then it dissapears

What gear oil is in there? Is there any in there? Did u drain it yet to look for metal shavings?

It's most likely your driveshaft hitting the bottom of the car.

Go underneath, near the first carrier bearing from the back of the car, and pull/push on the driveshaft, I'll bet it moves.

You probably need to replace the rear carrier bearing/fill it with silicone. It's just a problem our older cars have, those bearings (which aren't really bearings, the rubber support is the part that wears) wear out over time.
