Let's keep it simple

My tranny was working fine, shifting smooth

I did a turbo, manifold, and O2 swap to evo iii components

Tranny hard to shift into 3rd and 5th now.

Car was sitting at about a 20 degree angle downward toward the ass end of the car for about a month.

Someone please help.

mine can shift as fast as i can move my hand from 1-2 or 3-4 but from 2-3 i have to let the motor wind down a bit or i grind..

i figure its a synchro problem.... even though i had the trans apart a while back (few weeks) and it looked ok...

Yea my car has this exact same broblem, everything is o.k. other than 2-3 shifting. It will only gring after the car is warmed up, and Ive been driving for a while. when it is cold, it dose fine. wierd....I just had my tranny apart like 2 weeks ago to replace an input shaft bearing, and syncros looked o.k.......any ideas?????I already tried adjusting the linkage, but it didn't help.

i tried penziol synchromesh.. it still grinded

now im using ROYAL PURPLE Synchromesh..

still grinds....

not a cable prob.. its not like only sort of goes in gear or anything.. it fully goes in and stays in.. and feels right.. it just grinds like crazy if the revs are up high when i try it..

It has to be a syncrho problem, mine has been doing it like that for about 6 months.

It doesnt seem to mind going in under 5 thousand. I have been shifting on it pretty hard and it doesnt seem to care.

I might try some redline fluid next time I pull out the trans.
