isnt fluid supposed to come out of the transfer case when you slide the driveshaft out, i did notice some splatter around like the tcase seal may be bad

That is what the recall on the cars if for. the yoke seal leaks. There is probly some stuff on the drive shaft from it spilling. I would put some fluid in then take it to the dealer and let them fix it for free. I did it and got a new xfer case from them.

Fluid will come out, if the level is high enough.

only if you tilt the tcase ... if you tip the back of it ( where it connects to the driveshaft) it should start leaking ... if you keep it level or angle it forward it shouldn't.

Great time to drain & or check it of course anyway - along with The Tranny (I fill it thru the shift detente plug hole on top - easier with a small funnel) - & the rear end. It's such a PITA to get it up on Jack Stands - hell I greased the U-Joints too the last time I had it up. You can check your rear LSD while you have the driveshaft disconnected too - if both wheels turn the same way when turned it's good - opposite is bad.

my lsd is workin fine, my old talon didnt have a lsd and the wheels turned opposite, my 1g both turn the same and the front go at the same time as well
