How much do the chassis' vary if at all from 1G AWD's to FWD's such as an ESi chassis. For instance, my brother just picked up an 92 ESi and we may have access to a totaled 91 AWD with good drivetrain, would we be able to unbolt the the entire drivetrain, rear suspension and fuel tank and bolt it to the Esi chassis. I know its a huge project, but is it a bolt on affair or is the chassis themselves totally different?

theres some posts on this

its alot more then a bolt on affair
the whole trunk and rear is different

Totally different. Same door handles, though.

I haven't heard of it being done twenty times, if that's any guide for you. Lots of interest, but it seldom gets beyond the research stage.... for all the right reasons.

Yeah I threw my buddies GSX up on my lift then the Esi and took a look at the differences. I'm going to pass on all that work, it’s not worth it. I have all the parts laying around to turbo it and will just go that route. Thanks for the insight.
