If you guys have noticed i have posted alot of stuff trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. Thanks to help from newlogics, i have an idea as to what the problem is. We jacked the car up and checked the rear end to make sure it isn't that. It was fine. Then we put the whole car in the air put it in 1st gear and let the clutch out so the tires can spin and we could see what was going on. Well the rear acted like ti saposed to but the front. Thats where the problem is. My car is 3 wheel drive. My front passenger side tire was just barly moving while the driver side was moving just fine. so we shut the car off and moved the front tires by them selfs and there wasn't anything keeping it from moving so my cars tranny isn't transfering power to the front passenger side tire. So i will be taking my car back to the place that put the tranny in and have them put another good tranny in. Any of you ever had this problem before? The best we could figure about the back tires skiping was the off balance of power from the front tires made the center diff make the drive shaft spin at the wrong speed making the rear skip

I dunno, Asz, that still doesn't sound right. Still, with Newlogics helping, I don't know if you could do much better. Keep us advised, I've been wondering what was up with your car for some time.

I thought AWD's only have LSD in the rear? there for your 2 front wheels don't have LSD and only 1 will spin. Keep trying and maybe you can get both of them to spin. When I had my car up on jackstands, I spun my tires for fun and only 1 of them moved. I did get both of them to move once in a while though.

You've got a point there, doodle. With an open front diff and both front wheels in the air it is possible for one wheel to spin freely. But with an open diff the other front wheel will spin in the opposite direction.

Or it could be a front axle with stripped splines.

A more definitive test would be to lift only one front wheel up in the air, engine off, car in neutral, and try to turn the raised wheel by hand. If everything is normal, it should be very hard to turn, but it will turn.

Repeat with the other front wheel.

Did you do any other tests?

Your car sounds like it is acting normal to me(while in the air). You could try and put some resistance on the wheel that is spinning and see if it transfers power to the other wheel. I don't read these forums to often, so I'm not sure of the problem you where experiencing to bring you to test it. I too have had alot of drivetrain problems so I may have a little insite with more info. Good luck!

Mike

with the car up the drive side front and the two rears looked to be sping at the same speed with the passenger side front sping about 1/10th the speed. we were able to stop one rear tire and the other speed up like normal. We tired to stop the slower sping front tire and it wouldn't stop. With the car off both of them spun freely and when you spin one the other spins at the same speed but when the car is in gear they don't spin the same speed.
