ACT2100/street disc/RRE lightend flywheel. OK she Has been giving me some greif latley going into gear. I slipped 2nd & 3rd pretty good a week or two ago and this thing has seen more than a few hard lanches in the 1 1/2 years the clutch has been in.
I shifted earlier today from 2nd and teh clutch pedal stayed on the floor. I lifted it up with my foot and from that point forward It would not go in gear. It will go in in gear if the cars not running, as soon as it starts with the clutch depressed<< the car moves forward and you can go but can't change to a higher gear. ANY IDEAS what else this could be?
I bled the slave cylinder/replaced fluid. (fluid was nasty) THe clutch is actuating the shift fork just fine. The clutch feels a little sloppy in the first 2-3 inches of travel but firms up good to the floor. I'm not sure how to 'check'' the master cylinder other than its not leaking and is full of new fluid now. Had the car up on Jack stands and I could get it in gear after the bleed (barely). As soon as the tires were back on the ground I could not find a gear althought the clutch felt alot stiffer (not loose and sloppy). I'm thinking more along the lines of a preassure plate disk or TOB gone bad? Theres been at least 35000 mi of hard daily driving/drag racing and AutoX on this clutch.
The car will move foward if the car is put in gear before its started, (It goes right into gear when the car is off) (wont go in gear when started) note: it the moves forward when started in gear but does so with the clutch to the floor. SOmethings not disengaging/engaging..'not being able to get it in/out gear when engine in on' .. is that not a sign of a spent disc/preasure plate/TOB? How did you clutches feel before they went or if they went suddenly what was the issue?
