Newbie Quesion

I have a quick question. I am looking into buying a 1997 GSX and the car has a galant vr-4 motor in it but no transmission. If i were to get the car what transmission would i need? Thanks

I could be wrong but I believe ANY dsm tranny will work

ur going to need a 1g trans, gvr4 engines are 6 bolt, so a 7 bolt 2g trans will not work
ur best bet is to just buy a gvr4 trans

Keep in mind what spline count in on the transfer case. Old TC had a diferent spline than the newer ones. I just rebuilt my trans from TRE and had to replace the TC socket to make it match due to part cost.
