How Good Is The Stock Clutch Good For?

Hello I was wondering how much a stock clutch was good for horsepower wise? With mods as blowoff valve all ic piping stock 1g turbo and 1g cams and full exhaust is the stock clutch good for that or will it wear out quick? i need help! is ti worth getting the ATC 2600? or just new stock one im trying to save money help.

Depends on how you shift and launch the car, or I should say if you launch the car.
I've heard of people using the stock disk with ACT pressure plates and getting good results but stock disk + stock pressure plate + hard launches = fried clutches.

my stock clutch held up pretty good on the stock turbo with full boltons, it just couldnt handle hard launches, but with the 20g it started self destructing very quickly

i just got my act 2600 in and it is amazing, if you are in doubt of whether to get a clutch or not, get it, it is night and day and if i had another dsm it would be the FIRST mod i did

if u plan on ever launching ur car a stock clutch isnt going to do it, it will be fine with those mads for daily driving and the occasional race from a roll, but if u want to be able to launch the car u need an aftermarket clutch, u will just burn a stock one up

i have an act pressure plate and a 95 disk in my first gen. no problems. Way better than my 6 puck.

go with act. its up to u which application though. i have an act 2100 sitting in my closet. 2600 is insane so i hear grabs so good but the pedal pressure is very hard. mine is daily driven and raced occasionally so i went with the 2100. keep in mind a higher clamping force clutch will increase the chance of crankwalk happening even sooner. i know mine will walk, when i dont know.
