:dsm: heres the problem first off car is 90....it shifts absolutely perfect untill u get on ti and try to shift it hard..and sometimes it pops out of first..and when downshifting into first it grinds a lil if your still moving...ive checked the master cyl rod and the pedal the rod moves as soon as you touch or wiggle pedal..also now i blew somthing in it it feels like clutch is slipping but it stil pulls out nice and all just if yah give it gas it feels like a slip and theres a very weird humming noise coming from the tranny area now........and heres my last q i want to switch from a 90 to a 91 or newer tranny what all do i need and what all do i change and do 91 shift better and are easier to find and dont seem to break as easy.......do you think it could be that the clutch needs bleeding..

if it were a fwd i would say putting a 91 in it would be no prob (just put a 91 in my 90), i just got done swapping mine out 3 hours ago, but the output shaft is different on the 90' and 91'+ awd's, one has like 22 splines and the other has 23 splines or something like that, but you could just get the shaft from the car your pulling and use that, not sure how youd mate it up with the transfer case, may be able to use just the one side of the axle.
goodluck
