i was replacing my driver side axle in my 91 GS and the end of it that goes in the tranny will not come out, ive tried a prybar on the top and bottom at the same time while smacking the cv housing with a hammer all the while one of my 250 plus pound buddies was yanking on the damn thing. Im almost to the point where i say screw it an just pull the whole tranny out. anybody please help

1. Get ready to buy a new shaft seal.

2. Use a slot blade screwdriver to puncture/rip the shaft seal. This breaks any vacuum holding it in.

You can also opent the trans fill plug instead but if that don't work rip the lip on the seal.

I have to lay on the ground and kick at the prybar to pop mine out. Get the prybar in a good position and kick hard.

i dont know exactly what did it but i pulled tyhe other axle out 1st then wit little or no trouble the driver side finally came out

Getting the one side out broke the seal.

decent size cold chisel and wedge it straight up
never fails.2 or 3 hits it will move
