Tranny swap Q?

alright i recently bought a 93 GSX with a blown motor to drop my old 6bolt off my wrecked 92 GST with the 93 tranny in, well my mechanic says that it wont work but his explanation was complicated i know of 7 and 6 bolt differences but i didnt realize that this was one... so has anyone done this type of swap before? i need helf ASAP.

well the first gen 7 bolt started in 93 so that might be your problem

the tranny's are swapable. the motors are swapable. i dont know what your mechanic is talking about.

yeah motor is a 6bolt and tranny off a 7bolt

yeah i dont see why they cant bolt up. i think your mechanic might be talking about the flywheel. not your transmission. if the motor didnt have a flywheel you need to go get one. RRE lightened flywheels are great if your on a budget.

yeah i finally went to go see for myself and the 6 bolt engine is not lining up with either the 7 bolt flywheel or the tranny. i tried to use the awd tranny with the 6 bolt but it would not fit so now i got to use my fwd tranny and i wont be able to use my awd. is there any way i could some how make my fwd tranny into an awd?
