Ok, my friend has a 1990 talon tsi AWD 5 speed :talon: . It has apexi n1 turboback and a mbc. He went to the track on friday with a slipping clutch and ran really crappy times 15.8s and after taking it to the track his clutch is shot, he can barely even drive it on the street and it is very hard to accelerate at all without the rpms just shooting up. Now my real question is he wants to get the ACT 2600 w/street disk i told him this was a bad idea for what he has on his car now but he plans on getting a big 16g and supporting mods at end of summer or fall. now could he have a 2600 on his car for 4-5 months before he actually gets this turbo upgrade? I told him he would have to relaern how to drive his car and he would prolly stall it everywhere because he stalls his car with a stock slipping clutch all the time. Would this clutch with the power he has now (20-40 hp over stock) be streetable at all until he got his turbo upgrade?

Thanks,
Allen:confused: :talon:

Hey there! i just got the act2600 clutch put in my 90gst 2days ago. it is a very noticable difference when pushing in the clutch for me it is harder and it gets my leg tired maybe because i only weigh 115lbs i dunno LOL. but anyway i didnot stall the car at all but sadly about 2hours after driving around something broke and now my car is sitting until tonight when the guy checks it out. i guess i didnt really answer your question but i was just letting ya know that i just got the act 2600 clutch and from what i seen/felt i liked it alotOMG my only mods so far are 2.5in downpipe, hollowed out cat, removed balance shafts and i took the air box off. i guess this dosent help much but i think it is a very good clutch!!!! it should be for the price:rolleyes:

I love my act2600, I wouldnt trade it for anyother clutch, Ive had it a month, I get stuck in stop & go every day going to & from work. I never stalled it and I love the launchs!

Its focking great!

I also got the Fidanza 8lbs flywheel with it, great combo, its almost like you can be stopped and let out the clutch with out gas and go .LOL I really dont think an AWD should be with out it. The launches are so nice & smooth with it. Im 220lbs and after 3 days I didnt notice the clutch pressure.

You shouldnt have told you friend those kinda things about a clutch youve never seen.

The ACT2600 rocks for a daily driver! I wouldnt change it for the world either. I've had the 2100 in my FWD and it was hardly noticeable, but the 2600 in my AWD is awesome. Lots of light weights complain that my clutch hurts thier leg, the question becomes do you wanna grip or slip?

You probably snapped your clutch fork! As this is a common problem with the 2600.
