I'm about to purchase a new clutch as my stock clutch is slipping in 3rd through 5th gears now. I was planning on getting an ACT2100 but I can't seem to find any solid information on it. First of all let me state that I have a FWD and my 1/4 mile goal is to run 12s. I only go to the drag strip once, maybe twice a month, and I drive pretty aggressively at times :shhh: RRE says to only use the ACT2100 for occasional drag racing with a 14 second car, other sources say that this clutch is fine for a FWD car running 12s, maybe even 11s.
RRE's chart shows that the centerforce clutch holds up better to launching and abuse. So my question is, should I pay more for the centerforce, or will the ACT2100 hold up to the use that I mentioned before?

Don't get the 2100. The 2600 will work better for your goals and power because a FWD car has to slip the clutch more during the launch to keep from smoking the tires. That dumps a lot of heat into the clutch. I went through all that when my FWD got into the mid to low 13's. I thought the tires were spinning in second gear, but it was the clutch slipping. The centerforce would also be a good choice.

Too late, the ACT2100 and SS clutch line are already ordered :D The 2100 is supposed to support a 16G and that's what I plan on getting. I really don't drag race very often, like i said, maybe once a month, and there is usually a pretty good wait between runs so the clutch can cool. Thanks for the advice, hopefully this clutch will hold up for my use, I can't afford to buy another one anytime soon.

b/t/w you might wanna start saving up for the cage :)

On street tires and pump gas my goal is low 13s. At the track with race gas and possibly slicks I would plan to run 12s. My plans to reach these goals so far include:
current mods
Big 16G with ported or external wastegate
255lph fuel pump
550cc injectors
SAFC
Profec B boost controller
O2 eliminator 3" downpipe
Adjustable shocks
1g Intake manifold
possibly LSD

If anybody can think of anything else that I might need feel free to mention it.
Are there any places that sell rollbars for the Spyders or do I need to get a custom job done?

I was probably going to get a phantom grip or bmtranny lsd, are these worthwhile? Is it really worth paying an extra $800 for a quaife?

Yes it's worth the extra $ for the Quaife. At the power level and traction level needed for 12's the stock diff will have trouble staying in one piece. Get some motor mounts to reduce wheelhop, which also kills the diff. The Phantom Grip and BM insert still use the stock diff, they just stuff some stiff springs into it, they don't make it stronger.
Your mods list is almost the same as mine, maybe a little better, and I just touched a 12 once on drag radials and with 150 pounds of weight reduction.
