2G-specific 5speed swap question, peice in crank for auto car how do i get it out!?

doing a 5 speed swap on my 97 talon, wondering on the driverside if i have to use the whole cv shaft with the intermedaite shaft, or if i can just use the cv shaft that is in the car and jus change the intermediate shaft from the manual on it? any ideas?

and also when got the flex plate off and the flywheel off both cars the is a peice in the crank on the auto car the centers the flexplate on the crank any ideas on how to get that out

has like a dowel for the flex plate

no dowel

I was told to pack it with grease, get a socket that fits snug in the hole put and extention on the the other side of socket and hammer it in there.
I failed to do that so I just got a dremel and cut it off and did a little bit of grinding so no part of it was sticking out.

Question

Ok I have down this before and to me the easiest way was to get a blow torch from a hardware store or walmart. Heat it up and use a air gun and jackhammer it out. it took us 15 min if not less.
