Is this clutch reuseable?

Well I was going through a box of dsm parts and found an ACT 2600 pp and two discs. 1 disc is toast, but the other looks like it is probably useable. As for the pressure plate, it looks toast to me, but I've never reused one before. Does this one look like it could be resurfaced? Or is the no hope? Also, does the disc look fine? Thanks guys, I've been browsing the classifieds for 2600s and forgot I had this, so if it'll work, it'll save me money :thumb:

If you have a mic then see if the disc is within spec. It does look like the rivets are still down in the hole a good bit. If so, then I would just hit it with some 220 grit to get the glazing off. Is the PP smooth and just discolored? As long as it isn't cracked I wouldn't worry too much. Hot spots and discoloration are normal. You could take some 400 grit to it and clean it up slightly. Don't go crazy cause the step height of out FW doesn't leave much room for error. You won't be able to resurface it unless you get the flywheel step cut the same amount, which I wouldn't recommend.

Thanks for the advice... the PP is smooth and discolored, but no cracks or anything. Why do you suggest not resurfacing it? (sorry I'm somewhat new to the whole resurfaces things and clutch/flywheels) Also, I have an ACT flywheel that I received with my shell that'll need resurfacing. Do you still suggest not resurfacing the PP even if the flywheel is getting resurfaced? Thanks again

If you are resurfacing the FW then it might be ok. Just make sure the machinist knows the correct step height, and ask them. I don't remember the specs, but they are tight.

My thinking about the PP was that if you only resurface it then you are in effect changing the step height. I know the step height is measured on the FW, but the friction surface on the PP is where the contact needs made with the disc also. I just see a problem only resurfacing the PP, and I don't even know if that is common practice anyway...
