Okay, I'm bringing in my car this weekend for a new clutch install at a very good shop. My clutch is toast ( slips even in first, real bad) so i need to do this real quick here. My clutch options are ACT 2600 or Centerforce Dual friction. The lowest I've seen prices are $400 for the 2600 at Machv and for the Centerforce dual friction clutch set its $375 on diamondstarmotorsport.com. Which should I go with, and if possible any one know of any lower prices, I'm a little strapped for cash, install is $375 plus $40 for regrind, which is really good for the install especially at a DSM dominated shop which is supposedly the best in Minnesota.

95mitsugsx: I have been using ACT clutches for years now. From the 2100 w/stock disc to 2600 w/ stock disc to 2900 w/stock disc to 2900 w/6 puck to 2600 w/ xtreme disc. The last combo is what I have in my car now that's also with a fidanza flywheel. I can't wait to drive it it should be a real kick ass combo. My point is go with ACT it is a proven clutch in the world of DSM's and everyone know's it. Later

I like the ACT clutches. But it seem's quailty control is going a bit down hill. I have heard and seen ppl complaining about new clucthes chattering from bad engagment. But if you get a good one there nice

Shop around a bit for prices, I know that the are cheaper than that, I personally would go with act2100 if you don't mod the car to much, the 2600 has a heavy pedal, but is a good clutch to use.

ACT ACT ACT ACT ACT ACT ACT ACT.

By far one of the best low budget clutches for our cars on the market.

Go with the ACT 2600. Do it once, do it right. Even if you don't need the clamping force of the 2600, the beefier it is, the longer it will last. You don't want to do this again in a year do you?

I was in the same situation you are in, except mine died completely on teh way to the shop and I needed a tow. If you aren't going to mod you car alot, get the 2100. If you want to get real serious with the car later, get the 2600. Check out Slowboy Racing for an ACT. I paid 339 for my 2100 for everything and their 2600 is 389 and they are super cheap on shipping.
