D'seclipse

I've recently started shifting (for fun not all the time) by flooring it and engaging the clutch and shifting, without coming of the gas. It gives a nice little kick. For a NT. What is this procees called, shortshifting, speedshifing? And how much am I killing my tranny and/or clutch. Thanks.

I believe it's powershifting... it's extra strain on your tranny and clutch, yes.

It is called speedshifting. Powershifting is shifting without using the clutch at all, and just slamming the gears. Speedshifting is exactaly what you described.

this is what i thought it was:

shifting rapidly and slightly letting off the acclerator = speed shifting

shifting rapidly without letting off the accelerator = power shifting

shifting without using the clutch = stupid and destructive, haha but i had never heard a specific term for it...

Isnt power shifting when you dont use the clutch, but you know when to shift so it goes smoothly and you loose no power due to taking time to press and release clutch?

Some of the local racers powershift and do quite well I believe.
