Ok heres my story, I bought a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 5 speed. The clutch was blown and the tranny was locked up. To make a long story shorter I found a lightly used rebuilt tranny out of a 91 and it came with a lightly used act 2600 clutch set, fidanza flywheel and the shifter base and cables because they differ between the 1990 and 1991. I put all of that in including a new clutch master, slave, ext. slave rod, SS braided line replacement, and I also had to extend the master rod and the pivot ball in the tranny is shimmed out with 2 washers to get to where im at now. Currently the car is sorta driveable. The clutch starts to grab just off the floor (which isnt correct at all) and just this last time i drove it, it got slightly worse. When i went to put it into reverse it ground a little. If any one has ANY suggestions please throw them at me because ive been fighting this same problem since i bought the car 3 months ago  . I just want to drive it a little LOL. :talon:

Check your pedal assembly. You shouldn't need a longer slave rod or two washer behind the pivot ball to get proper engagement. Do you know what the step height is on the flywheel?

No I dont. It shouldnt matter tho considering the clutch flywheel and tranny all came of the same car and worked fine on that car. This is why Im stumped. Is is possible that the new (stock) master doesnt make enough hydralic pressure to push the 2600? Do they make aftermarket masters that are a higher pressure?

I too would say to check the pedal assembly. Press it down and let off. Then try and pull on it with your hand. If it comes up any, the pedal assembly is bad.

It doesn't need more pressure than what the stock system can provide assuming everything is working properly. Check the pedal assembly and bleed the hydraulic system if you haven't already. Why did you put a longer slave rod and two washers behind the pivot ball?

Thoes are things i was told to try. The washers did nothing. The longer master did help though. Before i did that it wouldnt go into gear at all it would just grind. After i extended that it stopped grinding but would grab just off the floor. I know the system is bled good i bled it alot. The pedal could be worn out though.

If the longer rod helps that usually means the pedal assembly is toast or the pivot ball is worn out.

Ok, so I'll drop the pedal assembly and get it welded up? And I'll also get a new pivot ball and the fork while im in there.
